In response to blogger Perez Hilton’s outrageous and demeaning comments directed toward Miss California, more and more Americans are beginning to recognize that tolerance is a one-way street for many gay marriage advocates.

…This is a message the American people need to know. Same-sex marriage isn’t about what two people do in the privacy of their own home.

National Organization for Marriage

1. Those wackos at NOM are keeping the Miss California thing alive. Is she trying to become the new Anita Bryant?

2. Perez Hilton is an immature attention-seeker. He’s not formally affiliated with any lgbt advocacy organization (as far as I know). He’s a blogger that MS-Paints penises onto papparazzi photos of celebrities.

3. I don’t think they understand the definition of tolerance. Tolerance means not tolerating intolerant views. It’s a pretty simple concept. You don’t sit there smiling as if it’s simply a valid difference of opinion while someone is saying that African-Americans should sit at the back of the bus, women shouldn’t be allowed to vote or that gay couples don’t deserve equal protection under the law. Bigotry is bigotry is bigotry, no matter how much they try to spin it as otherwise. I’m not going to “agree to disagree” or “tolerate” ignorant, discriminatory nonsense.

4. Um, hello! Duh! Same-sex marriage has never been about “what two people do in the privacy of their own home.” It’s about two people trying to obtain equal rights and recognition as a family in society. About being able to buy and own property together. About being able to raise children as equal co-parents. About being able to make medical decisions for each other and extend benefits to each other and about 1500 other things that straight couples take for granted but same-sex couples get denied right now, every single day.

Anyway, looks like NOM is about to release some new YouTube video upon the world. Here’s hoping they shoot themselves in the foot again.
