MTV Video Awards Humor Fail
I just saw the “Bruno” landing on Eminem thing and found it seriously disturbing. There’s nothing satirical nor humorous about an over-the-top caricature of a predatory gay stereotype sticking his bare ass in someone’s face. It’s not homophobic to react to having your personal space violated like the way Eminem’s was, and it is homophobic to assume that a gay guy would welcome it. There’s no homophobia uncovered here other than Sacha Baron-Cohen’s.
Honestly, how could anyone react to that other than some level of, “WTF, get your ass out of my face?”
